How Do I Set Expectations for My Table Without Comparing to Actual Plays? With Jasper Cartwright
This is how Eric + Jasper episodes go: first, we make some jokes about Eric being the Avatar, Jasper shares the weirdness of getting recognized on the Internet. But then we spend the majority of the episode dissecting the differences between TTRPG games at home and for actual play, in which media are audiences allowed to pick apart play decisions, and how our media diet in 2023 blends the performative and the real. And we make a lot of dumb jokes through it.
How Do I Recover After a Big Nerd Convention? With Jasper Cartwright
Shhhhh, we are such sleepy boys. Please, keep it down. Actually, you can get very loud and excited for the best organized professional development event we’ve ever been to (AND it was part of a DEI initiative!). But only get loud for that, we need to sleep otherwise.
Can You Play a TTRPG the Size of a Business Card? With Jasper Cartwright
Toon Town Cincinnati is a hard place to live, but we got two of the best fake cops working the beat: Detective Snuffles and Martin. That's right: this is an Actual Play podcast now, at least for part of it.
How Do You Plan a Bachelor Party That’s Also a Games Tournament? with Jasper Cartwright
Let’s get this out of the way at the front: Eric and Jasper will come to your games-themed bachelor party. Ask them, they will show up. They will also answer numerous advice questions because they’re coming down from being silly in person and need to be Serious Advice Givers.
Live in Manchester! with Jasper Cartwright, Amanda McLoughlin and Paul Foxcroft
From the Empty Space in Manchester, we did a live show! The first half is the Games and Feelings we know and love; the second half is Jasper’s Quiz Show Revenge. Thank you to Paul Foxcroft for coming up from London, Jasper for letting us stay at his house, everyone who rocked it in the audience, the entire city of Manchester, and halloumi.
Should I Taste Test This British Food? with Jasper Cartwright
We’re recording at Jasper’s house in Manchester and we’re really enjoying making the dumbest jokes about soccer right into each other’s eyes. Yes, we do answer game advice questions, but the bigger question is why did Eric keep eating the marmite?
Can I Restart My D&D Group After My Friends Fall Out? With Jasper Cartwright
The way I title these episodes refers to the questions inside (which are great, especially if you’re trying to getting your friends to pick up your niche hobbies or you’re trying tiptoeing around your friends’ drama). But this episode may be defined by the constant, middling Jason Statham impressions. So imagine the title is really “Jasper makes fun of Eric’s attempted British accents, but Eric should have seen that coming.”
What Is It Like Making Actual Play Content? With Brian Flaherty and Jasper Cartwright
A new podcast guest approaches! It’s Brian Flaherty of My First Dungeon! He joins Eric and Jasper to talk about the form, function, and feelings behind making content out of TTRPGs. We really GET INTO IT, so we’re very excited to share this one.
Should My Brother Be More Chill When I Win? with Andy Farrant, Luke Westaway and Jasper Cartwright
A new podcast guest approaches! It’s Andy Farrant and Luke Westaway, from Mom Can’t Cook, Oxventure, and Outside Xbox and Outside Extra, respectively. They’re joining Eric and Jasper for our first four-player episode to answer questions about adult siblings needing to keep their cool when playing games, keeping characters from different D&D campaigns separate, and whether Eric’s choice for a videogame LEGO set is good or stupid.
2 Boys 2 Feelings with Jasper Cartwright
Vibes! Reconnecting! Tears of the Kingdom! It’s Year 2 of G&Feelings and Eric and Jasper are hanging out and doing a soft reset.
Am I the Main Character at My Table? with Caldwell Tanner and Jasper Cartwright
A new podcast guest approaches! It’s the incredible artist and co-host of Not Another D&D Podcast Caldwell Tanner! He’s joining Eric & Jasper to answer questions about making fanart of your own character, resetting a game you spent hundreds of hours on, and the fear of grabbing the spotlight too much while you’re playing a TTRPG.
Was This Character in a Tony Hawk Game? with Jasper Cartwright
Not all heroes wear capes, so maybe answering advice questions (in the words of Goldfinger) makes us a Superman? Ok, probably not, but Eric and Jasper had a lot of fun answering more advice questions, such as helping an introvert at a LARP and recommending the best Pokemon game to hop on with. And Eric surprises Jasper with a Game Within a Game about unlockable Tony Hawk characters.
Do I Need to Let Kids Win at Games? with Drak and Jasper Cartwright
A new podcast guest approaches! It’s British TTRPG streamer, writer, and AP production manager Drak! He’s joining Eric & Jasper to answer questions about whether we should teach children the value of getting owned, if the new Sonic game is one of the best open-world games, and what modules are good for.
Are Reality Shows Games Too? with Jasper Cartwright
We’re a real advice show because we didn’t answer any of your questions! But Eric and Jasper did spend the entire episode hashing out the balance of game and entertainment in reality competition shows. And honestly, it was great.
Can You Tell the Difference Between Pathfinder and D&D? With Jenna Stoeber and Jasper Cartwright
We’ve unlocked a new podcast guest! It’s video essayist and very cool internet person Jenna Stoeber. She’s joining Eric & Jasper to answer questions about bringing a new combat-focused epic TTRPG into your life, exploiting rules-as-written loopholes, and if a rhythm game should necessitate having rhythm.
Should I Expose Myself to the Mortifying Ordeal of Being Known? With Jasper Cartwright
It’s coming homeeeee! And by “it” I mean “Jasper” and by “coming home,” I mean “talking about soccer.” Jasper lays out the case for relegation in all sports, Eric brings a deeply frustrating update to the Sports Story Saga, and we advise you on how mortifying but also important it is to tell people about your creative ideas.
For Once and For All, How Do I Get Into Video Games? with Mischa Stanton and Jasper Cartwright
Our editor Mischa found a Podcaster Stone, so they’re evolving into a guest this episode! They’re joining Eric & Jasper as they advise all the n00bs (appreciative) out there how to get into games, break down the Open Gaming License drama, and rename the Magic cards that should sound cooler.
Is There a Crab in This Game? With Jasper Cartwright
Whether you call this a hat trick, a turkey, or a triple kill, this is three straight episodes with new permanent guest Jasper Cartwright! Eric & Jasper dive into the questions and advise you on worldbuilding in a oneshot, teaching ancient boardgames at a medieval recreation, and how to best determine if a game has a crab in it.
Cyndaquil Is Jasper Cartwright’s Favorite Pokemon
What’s Your Favorite Pokemon and then I Say Something Nice About You is back, Poketrainers! New Permanent Guest of G&F Jasper Cartwright shares his love for #155, Cyndaquil. We talk about honey badgers, how British is the Galar region, and feeling the belle of the ball.
